Great service and they offered a rental while they took care of the car. They repairs were we’ll done and the whole back wiper looked brand new. However, the cost of labor was more than I was expecting, close to double of the cost of all parts. I know service in the Bay Area is expensive, but this was a couple of hundred dollars more than I was expecting.

This is only for the service department. If I had known how awful the service department was I would never have bought a car here. The service department is so backed up/poorly managed that they can't get simple services done in a timely fashion. And if you need a rental car (you're gonna need a rental car) they ship you across the street to get a tiny junk car. I expect a comparable car to the one I'm dropping off. And if they arw out of rentals at the time you get there, you are stuck waiting hours. And no one here cares about your time, sanity or customer care. Worst customer service ever....

All star cast with the exception of finance and timing. I've never seen a dealership nearly turn away business. My sales guy, Frank, was great and his manager was great as well - but the process of taking 6 hours to finally get everything accomplished was ridiculous. They only had 1 finance manger and apparently 4 people were purchasing cars at the same time. That is just a joke! I had to leave, pick up my kids and come back and STILL had to wait another 1 hour plus. The experience was fine overall but the time it took was unacceptable. You must have more than 1 finance person available to close deals...can't operate a business like that.

When I go to question him, he then changes his story. I've bought many vehicles, some from other AutoNation dealerships, never had someone change his story so much after we've verbally agreed to certain terms. Ended up paying a higher interest rate than was originally communicated, ended up paying more for the warranty than originally agreed to. Very disappointed. Edit: I did have to take the CPO vehicle in for alignment because it wasn't done right as part of the CPO process. That being said, I will give credit where it is due. Emir as a Service Advisor did an amazing job, he is the one person that we dealt with at the dealership who seemed to have his act together. Friendly, courteous, knowledgeable.

We had a great experience from start to finish when we leased our 2023 XC40 Recharge from Ardavan and his team at Auto Nation San Jose. He was straightforward in our initial email communications, didn't give us the runaround, offered competitive pricing, and helped us secure our new, beloved XC40 Recharge. We went to the dealership to finish the paperwork and pick up our car. We were disappointed when we were told that we'd have to come back in a few days to pick up our new car because a software update was necessary. It would've been better to have been told that before we drove from SF to SF so we could've just picked up our new car on the day that it would be ready. Besides that, we had an overall great experience and will definitely give our business again in the future if they keep it up.

Extremely disappointed by AutoNation Volvo Cars San Jose. As an owner of 2016 Volvo XC70, I received an e-mail last February telling me that the car needed an upgrade of it's cell modem from 3G to 4G. The e-mail quoted $377.41 + labor with a 2 year subscription to Volvo Cars App included. Made an appointment for 3/4/2022, only to get a call from the service advisor that morning that parts were on backorder and upgrade was impossible at the time. I called the dealership and was told that my name was added to a waiting list and to expect a call back when modems came in. Fast forward to February 2023 - still no call, but parts are apparently available now. Sadly, the deal expired 12/31/2022, now AutoNation Volvo quoted me $1247.02 for the same upgrade.

I found a great deal on a newer S60. 2018 with very low mileage, clean, like new. I am extremely happy, and look forward to driving my S60 for years to come. Emir is the service writer that I dealt with. I have had him scheduling and coordinating every appointment I have made at this location. I feel as though he has done everything in his power to make the appointments convenient for me, as well as addressing any and all concerns or questions I have had. I just bought a car from Autonation Volvo in San Jose. It’s a comfortable place to do business. In fact, I bought a very nice used car there a few years before. I traded it in for a new hybrid version, inching my way toward full electric in the next few years. Autonation has friendly, knowledgeable sales people, who are approachable and easy to talk with. I didn’t feel any hard sell, which would have been a deal breaker for me. I’ve definitely walked away from places like that in the past! At Autonation, I even found myself chatting for a few minutes with the general manager, a friendly, helpful person. Usually one only talks with the GM if things start to go south. So that was a pleasant surprise. All in all, a good shopping experience at Autonation. Good people.

Had a really bad experience at the dealership. Me and a friend waited an hour after booking an appointment over phone. We had to ask around to get help with our appointment and everyone asked us to wait. After 15 more minutes we inquired some more about our appointment and encountered a very rude staff just telling to book an appointment next time. Completely mismanaged and a very unrefined dealership. Needless to say, we went to a different dealership and the experience was completely different and we ended up buying a nice electric car.

Took my Volvo XC90 in for a heater issue. The service advisor Emir was very friendly and professional. They couldnt solve the issue but thats because the parts have been back ordered from sweden as usual. They were able to perform the service recall. One of the only dealers in the Bay Area that still provides rentals. Overall a satisfactory experience.

Stopped by the dealership to test drive used Volvo. Larry showed cars I was interested in, told me all cons and pros about them, test drove with me. Ended up with a nice low milage car, signing docs took no time. Dealership is in a pretty tight spot, with very limited parking, even navigating car out of the spot for test drive required team work :). Overall it was a nice experience.

Have had several poor experiences here where the service is just not up to par. Made an appointment, confirmed the appointment and showed up to be told there was no appointment in the system. On a separate occasion was told a part was on backorder 1-2 months and we'd be contacted when it was available. Over 6 months later we have had to follow up only to be told the part is on backorder for 1-2 months again. They just don't seem to care much about the customer experience.

I had a very positive experience with the sales team at AutoNation Volvo Cars SJ. - Reliable, trustworthy and good communications is what stood out to me. First I send a note from cars.com on a car that AN had just gotten in, and got an almost immediate response. Next, we agreed on a time to stop by and see the car. It looked fine and there were some small things that were to be fixed, but we made a temporary agreement and I was told it could be ca 10 days before it would be ready for pickup. At the end of the week, my sales contact Yoon called with an update and that we were still on schedule. Just to follow up after the weekend and set a pickup time. No haggling and no changes to the initial agreement, and the car was fixed as agreed upon. So now I'm an happy owner of an xc60 - no pain or struggle as I have experienced at other dealers.

Part of the team (3-4 people) works like a family, everyone reached out at some point of the purchasing process to give out information / update/ scheduling, never waited for more than a day to get back to every question we ask. No markup and relatively short waiting period (only 5 months for a 2023 PHEV 6-seater at this level/quality, probably you can’t find anywhere - I tried for more than a year) are big factors why I bought my car here. Just hope the rest of the team could help out more since only those couple of people that helped me were running around like chickens without heads. Looks like a small team and a couple of other workers were just sitting there on their phones/TV.

Staff was friendly and selection was decent given the shortages. I was charged no dealer adjustment but beware of extra services and packages sprung on you when the car arrives. They want a decision immediately and will not provide extra time to review. I had 5 hours in the dealership and at no point were the packages mentioned or explained before I got in the room with the finance team. Be prepared and don't get pressured into things you regret. 3.5 stars if I could choose it

I bought my Volvo XC60 (new car) about 4 years ago at Stevens Creek Autonation Volvo. Couple of weeks after the purchase, I found some issues with the car battery, so I drove the car back to service and they changed the battery. Few months after that, I found some issues again with the battery so I drove my car back into service center again. The service guy told me they have changed the battery for my car and I assume they should have put a new battery on my car. Since my car was still in original warranty, they didn't charge me for battery changes. However, not very long after the battery was changed, some strange noise started to be on my car after car is parked and engine is shut. I told service guy when my car was in yearly service and they told me nothing was wrong and they can't find any issue. Few months ago, the strange noise became worse and I often see "battery low" signal even I drive my car everyday. So I drove my car back to service center and asking them to take a look. After putting 3, 4 days in service center, they told me they could not find any issue but charged me $245 for debugging. 2 weeks ago, I sent my car to yearly service again and asking them to check it again. Finally, they told me my car battery need to be changed and they charged me around $600 for a new battery. After the battery was changed, strange noise went away.

Update. They took really good care of us after the review. They decided to take care of the paint issue and apologize for the inconvenience. Faith restored. Thanks Volvo Worst car dealership I’ve ever dealt with. They sold my wife a preowned certified S60 that had poor body work done now apparent two years later due to chipping paint. Manager offered us the option to paint it. $900. This was apparently the best he could do. The S60 was certified to have no accidents or body work. Lies lies lies! And now you want to charge me $900. Did I mention we just dropped off the car due to a service light indicating a repair must be made. Parts needed to be purchased a service date scheduled. We arrive to find the part was ordered wrong and we owe $600 more for the wrong part. Bravo Volvo! You just lost a third time Volvo owner customer. I will never purchase a Volvo again nor will I ever step foot in that dealership. We are selling this car and purchasing a new car with a reliable and trustworthy dealership. Stayh far away!!!!! It was one of the worst experiences for me selling my used car at this dealership. I waited for 1.5 hrs after getting an online quote from autonation but the representative gave an illogical reasoning that I had taken the EV credit of 7.5k so the value of the car was 7.5k less than the quote provided by autonation. By the way, I haven't taken any EV credit as I am not eligible for it. This is not as per any applicable tax law and car values are not governed by any of these illogical explanations. If you look up the car value listed for comparable used cars on autonation (or any other online car marketplace) that's what governs used car values. Complete waste of time and ill intention on this dealership's part to fleece me.

Warning, do NOT buy a car from Volvo San Jose, they bait & switch add on coverage and then do not honor it. When I got the XC90 Recharge last year, they talked me into the extra coverage for about $2000 that would cover any wear and any damages to tires, windshield and more. I went in for scheduled maintenance, and mentioned that the tire pressure sensor kept going off and showed them a developing crack in the windshield. They then said I need a new tire (only $16,000 miles on it) and said I'd need to have my insurance cover a new windshield, that the coverage I paid doesn't cover the windshield (even though it literally lists the windshield in the printed coverage list). Service people didn't care, sales people lied about the coverage, dealership doesn't care and doesn't honor what they sell. I will never get another car from this dealership again, they are not honest and can not be trusted.

Service for leased 2021 S60 was quite good, despite taking a bit longer than expected. Jamie provided good customer service and kept me up to date - this was very helpful. A big disappointment is a request to pay $315 for 10k service; I was never told this would be the case. This is unacceptable.

Much simpler and easier experience than CarMax or the Honda dealer next door. They were completely accepting of my family's unusual financial situation and were able to get us financing on a beautiful 2018 Mazda3. Test drive process was simple, and the price was fantastic!!! The process was a little long, but that's going to be true any time you buy a car. They even went above and beyond by calling around to other banks after we left to see if they could get us a better rate. They got our APR lowered by 4% which they didn't have to do. Genuinely just great people!!!

Fantastic buying experience, Frank Homayoun was great. He was no pressure listened to all are needs and put us in the right model. After the purchase we noticed some glue residue on the paint, we brought the car in the next day to have it removed, and Frank came in on his day off to make sure we were taking care of properly. This dealership service department is well organized but just has too much volume and too few employees to provide 5* service. I recently had my car in for its annual service and a problem with the air suspension. They replaced some parts on the first service, but the problem was not repaired, and I had to bring it back for a 2nd time. They charged me over $2000 to repair the suspension in total when that was more than I paid for it as an option. The other problem was that they did not properly reinstall my 3rd party air pressure tire monitors (just screw them back tightly on the valve stems) so my front left tire went flat just a few blocks from the dealership! I spent nearly 2 hours at an American Tire getting the tire check for leaks as the dealership techs had all gone home. When I discussed this with management the next day, no apologies, no promise of follow through, no gift cards for future work, just a "we'll check into it and get back to you". It's been a month with no response. It's now been another month and still no response in spite of their social media agent response shown below

Decided to start calling Northern California and Alanna B answered. I left a deposit for an xc60 recharge, waited 8 months for it to become available, it came in and i test drove it. I absolutely loved it. They gave me an excellent evaluation for my trade in. But I realized it was just too expensive for me and ended up backing out and getting my deposit back. I felt so bad, but they were totally supportive and cool about it. Phung was my dealer, very sweet guy!! Super low pressure sales, no mark ups or hidden fees. And they had like a whole team supporting me, they found discounts for my work I didn't know about. Auto Nation San Jose, for USED cars is horrible, they blame corporate that they can’t reduce prices even when you find issues with the vehicle not clearly displayed. Basically they said they can’t do anything at all besides sell me the vehicle on top of that Frank has horrible customer service and told me he didn’t like my attitude and walked off because I was trying to get a price break on things that weren’t displayed in pictures, another representative had to step in for him he was probably the best of the horrible experience. If I didn’t drive 4hrs to get this specific vehicle I would have never bought it I don’t recommend. Take your business elsewhere. Oh there vehicle was 5k priced over KBB so I figured I could get what KBB said my trade in value was, yet they tried to offer me 6k under KBB for my trade in, definitely wouldn’t advise selling them your car either you can get way better from other dealers.

I have to update my review: I got a flat tire a few weeks ago on the freeway. I had to purchase a new tire and rim from the dealership. When I call the dealership / Automation, I got transferred five times. Eventually, I came across Harvey. The lack of customer service was incredible. He constantly talked over me and did not let me ask questions. Eventually, when I pointed out what was happening, he replied with "go ahead, ask the question, I don't know who you talked to but I can tell you, that I am the Service Advisor." Titles don't grant people the privilege to be disrespectful and condescending. When I went to pick up my tire & rim from the parts department Harvey did not make eye contact nor greeted me when I entered the building. Service Advisors with Narcissistic personality disorders don't embody good customer service. The service department obviously did not offer any service because they couldn't even mount the tire and rim to my vehicle. I was told that it would take 2 weeks or more to be able to schedule an appointment to have the tire installed.

Parts & Service departments, absolutely AMAZING! Dennis (parts advisor) answered my call while I was in Elk Grove, CA in distress of need of a new wheel (tire and rim). All other locations did not have either part, but David assured me that he could order the parts asap and have it come as soon as 1-2 days. He was very transparent about the price and straightforward about what is best for my vehicle. He helped advise me that I could have a save drive home even with my spare as long as I stay under 50 mph and put the spare on the rear end of my car rather than the front where the impact took place. David along with everyone else in the parts department are so knowledgable and friendly. The service department is superr busy, but were able to replace my tire in a jiffy! I appreciate the kindness and extent they went for me to do the job. Please be patient with them as they have their hands and arms full with tasks. They replaced the tire with such thorough and precise care. I am so thankful to have David and everyone from this location help me.

I traded in my previous lease and bought a new XC90. I received a fair price for my trade in and Moneer A helped make sure I was getting all discounts such as company discounts. They helped pay the lender for my trade in seamlessly. Their add ons services are negotiable. Easily made an appointment by calling the dealership. Arrived to my appointment, three service managers were sitting at their desk one looked up …never smiled or said a hello …just waved me over sent me to the guy I had the appointment with. Not a welcome or friendly at all. Service was fine they offered me a rental car at an enterprise , a car across the street, took over a day for my service which was fine but I had to pay the gas at the enterprise since they did not offer me a Volvo loaner car. Before I picked up my car I asked to have a quote on an accessory, took two emails & a text and still no quote. So I walked in to pick up my car and ask for the quote and got it. Service was fine but not too friendly of staff. XC60 wireless charger works only 50% of time. I asked service manager about it he says since Avenue her phone it doesn’t compatible with wireless pad to charge. Pretty poor response after you spend $80,000 on a car

I purchase a used car there on 5/29/22. In the sales contract it states that autonation volvo cars san jose owes me the buyer - to replace the rear tail light inner piece. To date no one has followed up with me. On 6/16/22 I called and spoke with the sales manager Ardvan about the piece and he promised to call back. That call never happened. Now I am on the phone with Alana another sales manager that claims the ball was dropped on ordering my part. I told her this is unacceptable. I purchased the car last month trusting the dealer would do what was promised/owed. Now I will take this up the General Manager or corporate. The key to customer service is follow up.

I made an appointment to take my XC40 for a factory recall. The appointment was made on April 14, 2022, for a service date of May 31, 2022, at 7:40 am. I live in Santa Cruz, so I had to leave my house at 6:30 p.m. to get there in time for my "appointment". When I arrived at the dealership, the service advisor (don't know his name, he never introduced himself) told me that they didn't have the parts for the recall (the appointment was made six (6) weeks prior), only two service technicians were working that day, and there were approximately 20 people ahead of me. I left the dealership. I sent an email to them explaining my experience and asked them to contact me. I've not heard anything. At first, I thought my experience might be an anomaly, but after reading all of the 1-star reviews (and there are a lot of them!), I suppose it's not. I scheduled another appointment for June 30, but after reading everyone else's reviews, there's no way I'm taking my car there. This place is horrible!

I spent two months shopping for a used car on Stevens Creek Auto Row and the El Camino in Sunnyvale. My experience at AutoNation Volvo Cars San Jose was by far the best and where I ended up buying a car. I had an appointment with Alana the sales manager, and she handed me over to Sami. Sami is awesome. The car I was interested in was not ready for selling yet, but he showed us a list of cars at other AutoNation dealerships that were nearby. He offered to go to the other dealership and get the car I was interested in. No other AutoNation dealership did this for me and I went to many of them on Stevens Creek. Going the extra mile made the difference. I ended up buying the car with Sami. The whole process was stress free. Sami and Alana are pleasant, calm and service-oriented. If you find a car online at any of the AutoNation dealerships on Stevens Creek, I would recommend going to AutoNation Volvo Cars, asking for Sami, and ask him to bring you the car that you are interested in.

AutoNation does not care about servicing the cars which they lease or sell. I have leased xc60 from here. It have been so difficult to first connect to their agents and then get service scheduled. The service date always 3-4 weeks out. And finally when that day arrives no one comes to attend the vehicle. Think twice before buying or leasing from here as you will be stuck with non reforming vehicle and no where to go.

Service agent, Emir Krajnic was very helpful and very knowledgable, he rectified all my questions and also helped me with the information to maintain my car battery when its left ideal for more than a month. However, I have just one complaint, when I booked the appointment I was told it will take about an hour to complete the servicing and so I opted to wait while my car is getting serviced. However it was a surprise to hear from agent that it will take 2hrs, as I have not prepared for other options I had no option to wait for 2hrs in the lounge. It would be easy if we know exactly how long it will take. Otherwise, I totally loved the way we were treated and car was serviced.

Our Volvo XC90 does not pump cold air anymore. Last year, we brought it to Volvo Autonation and was told that there was nothing wrong with it. Overtime, it is getting worse so we brought the car back (after almost two-month waiting for an available appointment). Jamie, after quickly feeling the air, told me indifferently that there was nothing wrong with it. I had to insist that it was not cold, compared to another car we have. Jamie claimed it is "normal for Volvo." This is not normal for Volvo, or for any car, that makes you sweat and uncomfortable. Despite Jamie's warning that probably nothing will be found, we had the car sent in for an AC diagnosis . Later, the diagnosis confirmed that the AC was leaking freon. BTW, that was more than one week ago, the car is still in the shop without an estimated release date. This is my second Volvo, and will certainly be my last Volvo. From the often-failing sun roof, a dribbling car top like a rain forest, to today, a leaking AC, this car means nonstop repairs. What's more, the quality of the car matches the service of its dealer. They are bad.

This was by far the most respect I received while purchasing a car. The last time I was car shopping (at a different dealer) I wandered around the whole lot looking inside cars and in the lobby and I was never even approached by a sales rep. Here we were escorted to the lobby, met our rep right away. Got a nice test drive in and didn't receive any pressure while having all of our questions answered. I really like their sales process and when I was ready to purchase I had a time limit before another appointment and they were extremely respectful of my time constraints. It was the easiest car purchase! I wanted an electric car for some time and I narrowed down to the c40 and the polestar. I configured my car online and within minutes Moneer replied and set up a test drive for me. After the drive we find out there is zero markup! MSRP and out the door. Fantastic buying experience!! wow! This is the worst experience I could ever have at a dealership. Really impressive. I arrived on time for my appointment, and turned out my sales was helping previous customers, which was fine. But I left there alone for half an hour, no one even tried to help. And what’s worse, when someone came and they didn’t even have the model I was looking for. Then what is the point for setting up the appointment at the beginning. I know car market is hot, but this is not how you treat customers.

We went to AutoNation volvo for car service. Sang helped us through the process, very professional and kind. He also helped to arrange a complimentary car rental while our car was there for services/repairing from the enterprise across the street. There was a minor thing that we called to the office to check in the status of the car while Sang wasn't in the office, whoever pickup the call couldn't wait to hang up on us for 1 second talking. Thus this five star review is only for sang's excellent service and all technicians who helped with the car checkup and repairs. I believe most of ppl working there are nice tho! Thank you Sang! We will come again for next year's service. :)

We really had an incredibly amazing experience with AutoNation! From the first phone call Alana was honest, straightforward and super helpful. We in fact waited till they had the car we wanted in stock and got it from them versus a different dealership that has jacked up the prices and then offering a discount. The finance folks, Tran specially was again quick, competent, and incredibly helpful and knew what he was doing. Same for Diego! All in all while it took some time to take care of it all, we would go back to this dealership anytime!! Thank you all of you!!!

Sang did an awesome job. I was able to get a free rental while recall work was being performed on my V60. I was kept in the loop on progress of work, and it was done when Sang estimated it to be done. Car was cleaned and washed, and I was a very happy camper.

I pre-ordered my car online so I did not work with the dealer to choose the vehicle, but once it arrived, the dealer contacted me promptly and we made arrangements to take delivery quickly. I’ve gone to several Volvo dealerships in Bay Area including San Francisco, Palo Alto, and Burlingame. This dealership in San Jose has the worst customer service. Constantly feels like they’re trying to rip you off. I recently booked an appointment for a multi-point inspection. When I showed up for my appointment, I was told “we only do inspections if you’re also getting service done.” So I showed them the coupon they sent me in the mail for a free inspection. “That’s only at select dealerships” they said. Then I pointed out that the coupon was from their dealership and they begrudgingly agreed to do it. This place feels sleazy. Stay away. Go to the other Volvo locations instead.

Sami Popal is excellent. I was interested in a Volvo and Sami helped with the many questions I had on the vehicle. Prior to the test drive, Sami was responsive in answering my questions via email, and he was considerate of my schedule when making an appointment for the test drive. On the day of the test drive, he was quickly available. He was so pleasant all the way through. He was extremely knowledgeable on the vehicle and took the time to show and explain all the features, all while answering my questions. He listened to what features were important to me and demonstrated them effectively. His directions during the drive was concise and clear. I highly recommend Sami if you are considering a vehicle at their location and want a comfortable, “no pressure” experience.

From the moment we walked in through picking up our new lease every individual in this dealership was amazing. Our salesperson, Yoon, was friendly, transparent on numbers and knowledgeable. The sales manager we spoke to, Alana, was equally knowledgeable and helped up get a great trade in value for our currently leased Mercedes. They both answered all our questions and we never felt they tried to take advantage of us. In the end we got a lease on an amazing car for the price we wanted. Highly, highly recommend you at least come talk to people here if you're considering it.

If this dealership was a cologne they'd be Curve for Men. A little musty, not pleasant and a bit overpowering. After considerable research to locate the car I was looking for, I spotted one that sat on the Auto Nation lot for weeks. After purchase and contract signing, I was forced to wait another week so they could complete repairs which should have been done before they started promoting it online. Of course they only disclose this when you get to the dealership. From my perspective that's bad customer service and preparation. After you purchase the vehicle then you're gonna need accessories. Good luck getting any type of deal. They need to include everything, price it accordingly and take them off at customer discretion. I wasn't looking to get anything for free. At a minimum make me feel like you're willing to work with customers. Pro-tip: Don't buy any accessories from the parts department, You can get all OEM parts online for 20-30% cheaper than what they are willing to sell them to you at (Even with a discount). Would I come back here? I will honestly try to avoid it if possible.

First time customer trying to schedule a routine servicing for my 2004 Volvo V70. Tried to schedule online, but their online system wouldn't load properly to allow me to schedule despite multiple attempts. Called 5 days ago and was verbally told to leave a voice mail with one of their "scheduling team members" who would get back to me within a couple of hours to schedule - I left the message and never heard back from them. Called again just now and after going through the process of setting up a new customer account over the phone, they told me THEY DON'T HAVE ANY APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE UNTIL MARCH. How do you run a car service business and not have availability for a month and a half?? I'm astonished they're still in business and have such a high rating on Google. Guess I should have trusted Yelp reviews more.

I went to Autonation Volvo on 1/5/2021 for 80K maintenance with the cost of $1915.3 including battery change and alignment. 4 days later My car would not start for the very first time and I was stuck in a 2 story underground garage at night. It took the second tow truck company to pull my car out of garage before it can be lifted on to the tow truck. It was 1:50AM already after towing the car to dealership and Ubering myself home after a long day work. My car just had a major service done. However, Autonation said it was the fuse of other part of the electrical circuit not related to the battery they changed. The charge would be another $1200 plus tax to replace the fuse. There was no third party. So they said the problem was not related to their work nor from the 80k inspections. The whole experience was even more traumatizing to hear the adviser asked me, "Do you want to repair or not?

Started off badly, but ended well. Had a long-scheduled recall remedy appt..Place was stocked full of cars for repair. Harvey, the service manager, greets me with the news that they are really slammed, and my car would need to be there for 2-3 days. There had been no communication with me about this before I arrived. I had planned on having a rental for the day, and picking up my car later. I expressed surprise, and disappointment, and was told that the call center who schedules the appointments doesn't know how busy they are. Huh?! But you, as a service manager do, so why no communication between you and them, and me, the customer? I didn't want to be in an unfamiliar car driving up a mountain to work the next day in horrible wind and rain. The good news was that the car was ready the next morning, and it was thoroughly cleaned and washed.

Extremely vague, you can tell they do not care about customer and just want to get your vehicle into the shop “when they have time” to take your money. AVOID this place at all costs. There are Much better Volvo dealers in the area.

Not the best service I had, not the worst. I dropped my car for maintenance last Saturday, they said i can get my car back on Tuesday (longer than usual because I have a minor prob that needs parts ordered), but they didn't call me at all on Tuesday, instead I had to call them twice just to know that my car isn't going to be ready until Wednesday. I mean guys, just a call would solve the problem. Their customer expectation management needs practice. Apart from the complimentary manufacture maintenance, I paid about 650 for tire rotation, all wheel alignment, and two rear brake pads replacement, which I think is alright. Though i think my previous Marin volvo dealer service is much better... they have private driver sending you home and picking you up for free, more reasonable price and less customers in line.

Do not purchase a car from this dealership. I purchased a car in April of this year I have still not received the registration and license plates for that car, it is now October, I have called the dealership repeatedly to be told multiple times just be patient the DMV is running behind. I finally went to the DMV at the end of September to be told that they have not received any paperwork from the dealership at all. Therefore, they cannot issue registration or license plates. I have called the dealership multiple times since then, the finance department does not have the decency or courtesy to return a phone call. Some 10 days later I still do not have any answer as to why the paperwork has not been processed. Update; 2 days after finally speaking to someone at the dealership, they have admitted not sending the paperwork to the DMV since April and despite me going to the dealership 4 times over the last 3 months nobody followed through on my concerns and never even checked on the issue. I was just given lipservice. Just be aware that's how this dealership works! Buyer Beware!

My 2001 Volvo was towed to Autonation when it became inoperable. The mechanics did extensive checking and found a few major defects. It took two days to do the repairs. I was very impressed with Autonation Volvo San Jose. During my initial visit to check out the XC90, Varun allowed me to drive the car home to check whether my dog crates fit the SUV, since I was not able to bring them to the dealer. I was not very keen on the initial car due to the choice of the interior color, and since I was not in a hurry was ready to vate. As soon as they received another used car with checked off all of my requirements, I received a phone call and the transaction was very smooth. Purchased a 2016 XC90 with roughly 44k miles on it. Assured through their inspection car was good. Parts that needed replacing were replaced. The Covid situation did not allow us to travel much so in 7 months, we racked up about 6000 miles but I started hearing weird sounds earlier on. The report they mentioned said we had 9mm and 10mm of brakes left front and rear. Brought it in for maintenance in a different dealer and found that my rotors were shot and brakes were gone. ALL OF IT in the back and only 4mm left in the front. They also noted a spring in the calipers in the rear was missing. I do a little car maintenance here and there so I know brakes don't lose 5mm within 6000 miles. You'd be losing 1mm every 5k miles on average. So how did I lose 5mm in 6000 miles, if everything was good with the car? Beats me. But it's apparently my fault and it's over the warranty period so I'm stuck with a bill to replace all the [non-permissible content removed] they missed. 9mm? and 10mm? and after 6k miles, I'm left with 4mm in the front and 0 in the back??? Seriously? Oh and if you also bought from them, their "4k mile warranty" for used cars won't pay for your repairs if you did it outside of their dealer without having them check and diagnose that it was an issue caused by normal wear and tear and not something you caused intentionally - which makes sense don't get me wrong but they charge you for diagnostics. I live 200 miles away from that dealer and do not have the luxury of time to go there, have things checked only to have a 50/50 chance of it being covered and me having to pay for diagnostics and possible repair if they rule it outside of coverage. I went there to buy the vehicle and spent 8 hours at that dealer when we had planned it to be a quick in and out. Stay away if you live far from them shopping for cars and don't plan to go back and forth for every ding you find and consider your time to be precious. I hope whoever goes with them will have a better experience. And don't trust their inspection report. In my experience, it was either not 9mm / 10mm brakes or the car was not right even when their inspection said it was. But talking to the manager, they won't even consider their inspection being bad and bring up their reputation. Don't see much there in my mind. Had a land rover that I rode harder than this and took off roading quite a bit and I have not had to replace the brakes for about 2 years while racking up 38k miles. It's not my driving and it's not the roads I travel. It's that I trusted them and hope you guys have a better experience with them. Will definitely NOT recommend them. to anyone. And also, one more thing. They said the plates will be mailed to the house when we bought it. Our temp paper plates expired and no plates mailed. Turns out we had to do it ourselves, so I lost a day fixing that issue. All they really needed to do was let me know I had to deal with it myself and I would've understood. So yeah, I guess I gave them multiple chances - and still keep getting disappointed.

I went there to buy the vehicle and spent 8 hours at that dealer when we had planned it to be a quick in and out. Stay away if you live far from them shopping for cars and don't plan to go back and forth for every ding you find and consider your time to be precious. I hope whoever goes with them will have a better experience. And don't trust their inspection report. In my experience, it was either not 9mm / 10mm brakes or the car was not right even when their inspection said it was. But talking to the manager, they won't even consider their inspection being bad and bring up their reputation. Don't see much there in my mind. Had a land rover that I rode harder than this and took off roading quite a bit and I have not had to replace the brakes for about 2 years while racking up 38k miles. It's not my driving and it's not the roads I travel. It's that I trusted them and hope you guys have a better experience with them. Will definitely NOT recommend them. to anyone. And also, one more thing. They said the plates will be mailed to the house when we bought it. Our temp paper plates expired and no plates mailed. Turns out we had to do it ourselves, so I lost a day fixing that issue. All they really needed to do was let me know I had to deal with it myself and I would've understood. So yeah, I guess I gave them multiple chances - and still keep getting disappointed.

[ ] I was shopping for a new years surprise for my wife with hope of getting a new suv for her. Originally I was on the fence with making a transition to Volvo brand and what made me a believer was a quick visit to Steven's creek Blvd for some great info during my work break. The amount of features and performance of new 2021 T8 recharge is amazing, However I would have not know that unless my sales advisor Duy took the time and unlocked a vast amount of knowledge about the vehicle, its features and capabilities. He was awesome to explain things which may be taken for granted in other brands. I considered a Benz, Range Rover plug in and a possible return to a Lexus or a BmW brand myself. Duy introduced us to Aslam the sales manager to show us why those other cars did not compare to the new xc90 T8 . And he was right. Aslam made the financing work with all considerations taken. He even went the extra mile to get the process done super quick and easy while Duy was on top of all the prep work and getting the car done and ready for delivery. I can say the experience has been a huge breath of fresh air in the crazy days we live in. Thank you both to Duy and Aslam for making a one xxxx of a surprise super memorable as this was a present to my wife . With a red bowtie, full tank of gas and full battery of juice the car was perfect just like the experince with stevens creek location. DO NOT SHOP HERE. This dealer fits every underhanded stereotype of a used car dealer. We should have read more reviews before looking here for a used car. We came in to look at a used Hyundai Santa Fe. Our sales person, Larry, was very nice and we have no issues with his service at all. We sat down with him and looked at the report on the car - we were told one reason to shop at an Autonation dealership is confidence the car has been thoroughly checked out - in Autonation’s exact words: “No Worries, We've Inspected It. Thanks to a rigorous inspection process and a vehicle history report, you can rest assured that this vehicle is Worry Free.” It was disclosed on the inspection sheet that the car needed new shocks but that everything else was good to go. We bought the car and drove it directly to our trusted mechanic who did a thorough inspection - and found $1,744.06 worth of issues, some quiet serious including the bolts holding the turbo engine were missing, a serious engine oil leak and a large nail in one of the tires plus numerous smaller issues that while not as dangerous should have been disclosed. I went under the car with the mechanic and these were easy to see. It is a used car so we expected there to be some issues - BUT, we expected any issues to be declared so we knew what we were getting into. We immediately contacted the dealer to ask that they fix these items or refund the money for us to fix them. We were told we needed to deal with the manager Aslam Ebrat but email after email and call after call went unanswered. Finally, after the no hassle return window was over, he called us back. After much discussion he told us he would pay for the items that should have been picked up in their inspection and to have the mechanic create a new invoice excluding the items he would not pay for. We immediately sent him an email confirming what he had agreed to, he did not respond to that. We sent him the new invoice. Again no response for days. Finally hear back and he says he didn’t agree to pay for these items. Sigh. Over a week had passed now, a week in which we weren’t looking for a different car because Aslam had agreed to make this right and now we were in a real bind, we needed a car and wouldn’t have time to find another. They sent us a check for a few small items he now says is what he agreed to (again we had emailed right after the phone conversation with the list of items he agreed to fix and had no response) but left us on the hook for the major repairs. Just a really terrible experience. Will never shop there again and strongly recommend no one else does as well. We will be contacting Autonation as well.

I recently purchased a 2017 Volvo V-60 and would not recommend buying a used car from this place unless you are a mechanic and can tell if a car is in as good as shape as it should be. I am not, so I put my trust in the fact that this car was certified pre-owned with low miles (~20K). Upon initial inspection (me taking 30 minutes to look at the car quickly) I noticed a lot of scratches, a couple of small dents, a rear bumpber that had seen better days, and a rocker panel dust cover that was misaligned. PROs: 1. They buffed out most of the surface scratches that day. 2. Although it took a week in the shop, the rear bumper was repainted. 3. The rental car for a week was paid for. 4. The tires looked new. 5. The interior was spotless. CONs: 1. They didn't fix the dent on the lower passenger door/wheel well. No estimate, no repair. 2. The estimate for the rocker panel was $750 and the Sales Mgr didn't authorize the work. 3. The Car Fax indicated the rear brake pads had recently been replaced and the front brake pads were never replaced. RED FLAG Something must have been wrong with the brake system if the rear brake pads wore down before the front. I assumed that during the "Certified Pre-Owned" process this anomaly was taken care of at the same time the rear pads were replaced. But after I brought the car home, my brother pointed out that both rear rotors were grooved and should be "turned" or replaced. Why was this not taken care of during the CPO process? Natural wear and tear I understand, but after 20K miles the rear brakes and rotors should still look like new. The front brakes should wear faster since they do all the work. The rear brakes were worn so bad the rotors had deep grooves in them. Certifying a car with grooved rotors is a safety violation in my opinion. 4. It cost me over $500 to replace both rear rotors and pads (cannot replace grooved rotors without replacing pads). The service manager at another Volvo Dealership where I had the work done said the previous (pad slap) e.g. replacing pads but not the worn rotors, "was an unsafe practice". 5. The sales team gave me less than the trade-in quote I received from the AutoNation website. My car looked like new with only two imperfections. they said the price was dropped because they would have to spend extra money to cover the two dings. When I answered the questions for the quote, I entered the dings and the price quoted was adjusted accordingly. I should have left the dealership right then but I really liked the Volvo and had been looking for one with low miles for a while. 6. That made me think; if my trade-in was lowered because they were going to fix these blemishes, then why did the Volvo I was about to buy look like it had been attacked by tumble weeds, driven over a curb, backed into another car(or two), and driven with the rear bakes on for 20K miles. They only fixed the bumper and scratches AFTER I pointed them out and asked they be fixed first. THAT my friends is shady "used car salesman" business. I wouldn't doubt for a second that they didn't do a single thing to my trade-in, before putting it out on sales lot. I was temped to drive by and see for myself, but I didn't. Note: Sales team were snakes but the service dept did everything they were "authorized" to do professionally.

I went to lease an X60 T8 plug in hybrid. The sales guy was okay but he kept saying “sweet “ over and over. Great test drive. Negotiated price and a package deal for brake protection and excess wear and tear. Told I was given employee pricing on the extras. Agreed to the deal. It was late so we planned to take delivery the following night after work. I did an online financing application so Eve would be done the next day. Showed up to take delivery and the car wasn’t detailed. Started to do the financing and the pricing was different on the extras. Escalated to sales manager who said I must have misunderstood the manager from the previous night. Bait and switch. I packed up and left. On my way home, the manager called and convinced me to come back. On my way he called again informing me the vehicle had a software update needed. I emailed the general manager who called me the next day and insisted I was wrong. I ended up leasing the car because I really loved it but I would never buy or recommend this dealership again!!!

Zero stars if possible. I bought a used Subaru in December of 2019 right before Christmas for my daughter who is away at college. Within the first week the check engine light came on. After taking it to a Subaru dealer in Walnut Creek, I learned the entire motor and turbo had to be replaced. While their Autonation warranty covered some of this expense, I am still out of pocket an additional $2500. The sales manager even accused me of damaging the motor despite the fact it I had only put about 150 miles on the engine prior to it blowing up. I will be taking them to court needless to say. Avoid this dealership at all costs!

So we started a new contract with the same car but only me as the owner and her as the co-signer and and they told us we had 5 more days to return the car. When we tried to return the car on the 3rd day from my contract, the salesman disclaimed of what he said and told us that we couldn’t return the car even though he was there when I signed the new contract. The car was used and it is an Acura MDX. These people are liars and please beware of what you sign. Don’t trust them.

I expected a lot of work done and was willing to pay for it but when I went to pick up my Volvo only three things were done they got it started but the things that were marked immediate attention we're not done. I guess they do this to get you to come back I'm not I would recommend no one to go there it's so unorganized. The service managers even worse I wanted to use my AutoNation credit card and use six months financing to pay off the repairs as stated on the website. But nobody knew what I was talking about I'm going to an independent Volvo repair Scandia on Evelyn avenue Regal in Sunnyvale. Soon as I pay off this mess with Volvo San Jose I'm going to take my car in there hopefully it'll get there to have the remaining repairs done totally unsatisfied I wish I could give no stars but you must get Stars in order to have a review.

Buying the car and the salespeople are fine. However, the service I received after I bought the car was atrocious. I literally had the car for less than a month and the battery died. Getting an appointment, bringing in your car, and everything that comes along with that was the biggest headache. I regret my purchase if this is the customer service and car service I have to look forward to the duration of my Volvo ownership. I would avoid this car dealership at all cost. Happy and kind to take your money and then turn around and waste your time and treat you like crap when you come back for services...

Volvo AutoNation in San Jose sold us a Certified Pre Owned Lemon, and they are not communicating with us or working with us on a resolution. The Service Engine Light when on 5 days after we purchased a Certified Pre-Owned Volvo XC90. A fuel injector needs to be replaced, as well as 4 spark plugs. The engine is misfiring because of the faulty spark plugs and fuel injector. The worst part is that the dealership is not fixing it for us because the "warranty" has not registered for the car yet (they say it will take a few weeks), and they are not willing to fix it until the warranty registers. If the dealership itself is not willing to stick its neck out for the "warranty" they sold us --- it speaks volumes for the quality of the "warranty." The Volvo Pre-Owned Certification check did not catch 4 faulty spark plugs and a faulty fuel injector. Joseph in sales gave us good service until we drove off the lot. Stay away from this dealership.

Very unhappy, wasting one hour to wait for the service car for nothing. 8:30am dropped off car , was told 2pm or 3pm, car will be ready, no call to pick up. When I called for inquiries, was told before 6pm. I called again 15 minutes before 7pm. No papers there means no car ready. Called again nest morning around 9:20, waiting for Jamie to call back. She did after 10am, she told me come at 11am, I told her I don’t have time to wait. Then, she said, “I’ll call you when the care is ready.” Around 12 noon, I was told the car is ready.!!!

When me and my wife went to Autonation, we did not have any plans of buying car. We just went for checking the prices and to get more details about the lease options available. We went to multiple shops prior that and the treatment we received from Autonation was awesome. Especially the sales representative Yoon. He explained us about the different models. He was able to convince us the advantages of taking XC60 over XC40. He helped us in understanding the different leasing options and he made sure that we are comfortable with the price. San Jose Volvo dealer is not a place to do any reasonable business. You will waste your time, and if you don't care about that, then you'll definitely waste a lot of your money. Came twice, since it was very close to my location. Both times was never even asked about if any help was needed. Managers in glass office were chatting between themselves while ignoring any customers in attendance. One or two only available sales looked like just after high school with zero sales experience or knowledge of what they are selling. They were busy making a very busy look with their computers. All while there was only one other customer at the entire place. After a very short discussion with one of the high school kids, we were offered an absolute final!!! price that was 30% higher than any other of 7 Volvo dealers that I later communicated in Bay Area. Only another choice given us was to leave and don't waste their time. This situation repeated itself both times as I decided to try again, hoping that I came at the wrong time or run into wrong people. What I found is that it all comes down from SJ dealership management. Their sales were also making their eyes towards glass office and hinting that they have zero leverage communicating on our behalf. After all this spectacle and while submitting requests online to all of the Volvo North California dealerships, this dealer didn't contact me until a week later, when I already bought XC90 from absolutely Amazing Niello team in Sacramento. That is where you won't waste time or money and receive amazing experience while being treated with dignity and respect no meter what expectations you would come there with.

It is a 20k maintenance service for my xc90. Service advisor told me it should be one day, I drop off my car in the early morning, but I didn’t received any notice when my car is done. I need to call and leave an messaage in the late afternoon, but still didn’t get any response. Called again the next morning. Service advisor is not available so anothe person helped to check the status of my car. She said I need to wait until the next Morning, but I insist that this is just an 20k service and it should be done in one day according to service advisor. She checked again and said it is done and is ready to pickup. When I received the car, the paper said it is already done around the lunch time on the day I drop off.

AND, if you need to special order a vehicle, do it through Volvo USA directly. AutoNation Volvo San Jose lies about placing orders. Was told twice they'd placed my order only to discover they hadn't done so. Plus, there's no way for you to track your order if you go through the dealer. Expect to make lots of phone calls that will never get returned. For example, I was given a delivery estimate of 2 months and it took over 8!!! No status update phone calls. No apologies. No discounts. Only pressure to pick up the car immediately before they sold it to someone else. Just save yourself the hassle and avoid this place at all costs!

Only email I received was a lie saying they had placed an order for my vehicle. Checked 2 weeks later and there was no order. Promised delivery of my vehicle in 2 months. When I checked in 2 months, they said delivery would take another 2 months. Actual delivery took *8* months!!! No apologies. No discounts. Nothing but pressure to get the car off their lot immediately or they'd sell it to someone else. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere!

This dealership met my expectations for my first service on this car. The service rep received me on time at my designated appointment, discussed the services being done, and handed me off to Enterprise for a rental car as expected. The store experienced a power outage for most of the day and was not able to return my car the same day, but that was beyond their control. I was able to pick up my car the following day. The work done met my expectations.

It was a pleasant experience bringing my car to AutoNation for service. My only gripe was the fact that I brought my car in at the earliest time available and it was still a seven hour wait before my car was ready for pick-up. This was for an inspection, tire rotation and alignment and wiper replacement. When I asked about the long wait, I was told the dealership had many cars come in for service that morning. I had an appointment that was made the previous week for the earliest time-slot available. How did all these other vehicles get in in front of my appointment?!? Small gripe for some, but it burned most of my day off..............

Well, I brought in my wife’s V50 for 150K service. I asked that they flush the brake system and inspect the brakes. They called back and reported that the rear pads, along with the rotors, should be replaced, and I approved. After my wife drove the car back home, she told me something is wrong and that I should drive it. I was surprised to find that the brake pedal traveled about three inches before you would feel any resistance. We have never encountered this condition previously. I called AutoNation, they were very nice and told me to bring the car back, which I did. After 3 days I called and was told that they purged the brake fluid again, found a small bubble in one of the brakes, and now everything is fine. Came back, tried the brake pedal, and found that it still had three inches of free play. Informed the service advisor, who brought a technician. The technician drove the car and told me this was normal. I insisted this condition was not normal and that it started after they changed the brakes, but he insisted everything is fine. I started driving back home, but when at the first traffic light the pedal sank almost to the floor, I brought the car back. They said they will investigate. After a few days I called, and was told that the purged the system again, and all is fine. Came back (a third time) to find that nothing has changed. I still though it was not acceptable, but since they assured me they tested the car thoroughly and everything is fine, I drove it home (a mistake). However, after driving the car once on a highway trip I realized it is quite dangerous to drive like this, and there was just no way that this was normal. Called yet again. The service adviser said he would have to talk to his boss. I called the following day and was told that his boss suggested that I bring the car over and they will do a thorough test of the brake system. However, this could be expensive, and I will have to pay for it. When I protested (after all, the problem did not occur before they worked on the car) he suggested I talk directly with Jim, the service manager. I called Jim, no answer, left a message asking him to call me back. Called the following day, left the same message. Called the third day, left the same message. He never answered, never called me back. I called the general number to find out whether Jim was working that week. Yes, he was, but he was busy. Is there someone else I could talk to? Sure. I got transferred to yet another number that rang with no answer. Bottom line, It’s been weeks, the car is still parked in front of our house, not drivable. No word from AutoNation yet. Not sure what to do next. AutoNation - if you are reading this page, perhaps someone could finally do something about it? the service adviser Sang has my details.

They have good service, I felt good. I took my car back for service a few days after, after finding an issue they can fix under warranty. They supplied my with good service and a rental. The info he provided helped a lot in making choices and decision about car buying, and he’s never pushy. Also, once we picked the car we like, everyone who were involved in the transaction made an excellent effort to get us in and out of the dealership in less than 1.5 hours! 1.5 stars Last year I bought a new XC90 Inscription from Jeff who was great and had great patience for us. 2 weeks ago on Sunday, I walked in to ask about the price on a fully loaded V90 CC that I had my eyes on. I was able to negotiate a price by Monday morning, and I got my loan approved and signed the purchase contract the same day, and I saw it as a good sign. On Tuesday I called my new sales person a few times and couldn't get through, I texted the sales manager and my loan officer tried to get through with no result as well. I was not happy, as I really shouldn't be chasing sales people to buy a 70k car, this simply isn't the type of customer service a luxury car dealer should be providing. Wednesday I got a text from the manager that I can still pick up if I bring the down payment, but the dealership still couldn't figure out how to send the wiring instructions. I arrived a couple hours earlier to pickup my car, was greeted promptly, but found that the bumper protector I wanted was not installed. I had to go to parts to pick it up and do it myself. The last straw was when I was unceremoniously handed a DIRTY key and told that since I already know how to use the car, I can walk myself out... A even better surprise came when I took the car to the office the next day. The car shook on the highway like giant washing machine and got worse when braking. I knew I should have test drove it on the highway, instead of trusting them. I took it in for service on Monday and was told that they replaced the rear rotor and confirmed it was fine. Guess what? It wasn't fine. Still shakes and now I have to go back again. Overall, my current experience is more than frustrating, especially considering they got over 130k from me in 1 year.

I’ve been coming here for service for 14 years and accepted that I was paying more than I would at a private shop in exchange for better service and especially the convenience of a Volvo courtesy car. The opportunity to try out various Volvo models while my car was being serviced lead directly to the purchase of a second Volvo for my wife. That’s all changed since AuotNation outsourced its courtesy car service to a car rental firm. What was a 5 minute process of getting into a courtesy car is now a half hour to hour hassle for a rental car. On top of that on the last two visits I had to wait 20 minutes and over forty minutes for the service department to bring my car to me after I arrived to pay for the service and retrieve my car. Not good. I question whether it’s now worth the extra long drive to Stevens Creek Blvd for service on our two Volvo’s.

This is for the sales department only Very patience staff came in multiple time to see vehicles before finally making a decision. I worked with Larry on one of my visits to see pricing and options. Last took time to try and locate the vehicle specs I wanted. After a few day and online research I was ready to purchase the vehicle. Working via email to get competitive pricing and let them know I was ready to purchase and we came in. Larry had the day off but Diego took care of us. The vehicle was pulled up washed and ready for a drive and inspection. Once we were happy with the condition they took it for a detail while we signed the paperwork in the finance office. Great experience, not pushy with add ons and it was probably one of the shortest signing I’ve ever experienced. Larry even called a week later to checked in and see if I had any questions about the vehicle.

I am extremely disappointed with the level of service I have received from Volvo San Jose since the purchase of my vehicle. When I stopped into the dealership to explore the XC60 the team was friendly, and even through the purchase process both our sales consultant Larry Lyons and sales manager Robert Roberts were extremely attentive. Unfortunately this is where the attentive service stopped. When I purchased my vehicle is was in the evening and dark outside, so two days later when I was checking out the details of my vehicle I noticed the an interior compartment appeared to be damaged/missing. I took pictures of the compartment and emailed Larry (who had previously emailed me and responded to my emails) without any luck/zero response. I have been emailing both Larry and Robert since January 21, 2018 and received no response. On March 12 I emailed again and I also chatted with a representative through there online chat system and explain my situation. The chat representative took my contact information and said he would notify the dealer representatives. A few days later I received an email and phone call from Larry indicating that he was out of the office for a few days and would reach out to me when he returned. When I did not hear from him I reached out again and once again I received ZERO response. At this point I am disappointed and frustrated with this experience and I need resolution. I purchased a new vehicle expecting it to be complete not missing parts and I had hoped that the attentive service would continue over the length of my lease. I guess I was expecting to much from AutoNation Volvo Cars of San Jose.

My wife and I purchased a Volvo XC 90 from AutoNation in San Jose a few weeks ago. GREAT experience from beginning to end! We live in Sacramento and wanted to purchase the car locally, but we wanted Magic Blue. We found one online at AutoNation in San Jose. My wife called the dealer and spoke with Paul Mosher, the General Manager. She explained that we were diving from Sacramento. He was great on the phone and said to ask for Robert the Sales Manager when we arrived. Two hours later we got to AutoNation and Robert was waiting for us. He had the car pulled up out front ready for a test drive. We did a quick test drive and decided to buy the car. Robert introduced us to Jerwin Bautista from Sales. Between the two of them they churned through the financing and the rest of the paperwork. From when we arrived to driving off in our new car it took about two hours. We got a great price on the car and had an awesome experience with the team at AutoNation. I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend them after our very positive experience!

Some one in the maintenance department lost my car key. It was later found in another costumer's car. It was returned to me a few days later. In the meantime the dealer ship ordered that a new key be made, at no charge to me and let me continue to use their loaner car. It was inconvenient and as a result I had to wait several days before I could actually bring home my own car. I would also like to mentions that the person who helped with this matter, Harvey Flores, was very helpful, understanding and considerate when dealing with this unfortunate matter.

There was an unusual problem with the armrest. The service manager, April, looked at it and sent a report to headquarters. They authorized replacement with no cost to me. April was very efficient and called when she said she would. The employee in charge of loaner cars also went beyond my expectations. They both should get a raise!

Just purchased a used Volvo S60 and very pleased with the vehicle so far. Jerwin was super friendly, no pressure, and an excellent salesman. He was responsive to messages, and was able to get our vehicle transferred from another AutoNation at no charge. We were called by service department the day we drove the car off the lot to make an appointment to do minor repair on the bumper and install a license plate holder. Wes in Finance was very attentive and easy to deal with, as well. All-In-All, it was a very good experience!

DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE! I purchased a used car from this dealership on 12/3/16 and as of today 6/3/17 I still do not have license plates or tags or registration papers. 7 months!!! I have received a letter from the DMV stating I cannot legally operate my car on CA roads and in doing so I can be cited and the car impounded for outstanding fees due, vehicle verification and incomplete registration. I started contacting the dealership around 60 days inquiring about my plates and they kept giving me the same answer, "Don't worry you have until 90 days. I am sure they will arrive any day." At 90 days I spoke with the girl who processes the DMV and I was told they mailed me a letter to tell me I had to bring my car in to be VIN verified. A letter I never received because they sent it to an old address NOT listed on the bill of sale. I don't understand why no one else could tell me this information or even better someone should have called me to schedule this! She then proceeded to tell me she could send someone to me to verify my VIN. Feeling optimistic I agreed and she said we will contact you. 4 calls and 6 weeks later I finally got a hold of them and got my car verified. This was in April of this year. After 3 more weeks I started calling again with no luck. I get the same answer, "Give it a couple more weeks, these things take time." And now I have a car I can't drive and no one will give me a straight answer. Reading other reviews I am not the first and won't be the last. This dealership takes your money and does not fulfill their end of the contract. I do not have another car and have to take the bus or ride my bike to work. I purchased from a dealership to avoid any hassle and this has been the worst car buying experience ever.

I had an excellent purchasing experience at that Auto Nation Volvo in San Jose. I worked with both Jerwin Bautista and Joey Edsberg, and both were really friendly, helpful, and provided excellent customer service with no pressure whatsoever. I'd been considering an XC90 for several months, and had been talking to a number of dealerships, including a few that worked with True Car. The San Jose dealership offered the best price by far, and was open to negotiation as well. Adam in finance handled our final paperwork, and he was really friendly and helpful as well--and again, no pressure to add any additional services unless we wanted to. I tend to keep my cars a long time, so haven't had to buy many, but this was by far the best car buying experience I've had. Thanks, Jerwin, Joey, and Adam!

We love our Volvo XC90. We had the BEST experience with our sales associate, Jerwin Bautista from AutoNation Volvo San Jose. He is the most knowledgeable about all the functions and buttons with the XC90. If I had a question, he was able to respond and demonstrate it to me on the car. You may think that all sale associates would be able to answer questions, but I went to different dealerships and had different sale people and the majority could not answer my questions about different functions of the car. I was very confident in my purchase with him as my sales associate. If you are looking for an awesome sales associate for your Volvo, ask for Jerwin Bautista and Volvo San Jose!

They sold me a car without a title." I purchased a $41,000 used car from Autonation Volvo of San Jose on November 13, 2016. It had been listed for sale since September 10, 2016. It is now January 11, 2017 and I still do not have a title and am unable to license the car. As it turns out, they sold me the vehicle when they did not yet have a title to it and were therefore not the legal registered owners. In fact, they did not even get a title to the vehicle until Monday, January 9, 2017. This is 4 months after they put it up for sale. Imagine my surprise. Now multiply my surprise by the fact that I have been unable to get a return phone call or email from anyone at Autonation to address their questionable (if not illegal) act. All my voicemails and emails to the salesman, the sales manager , the finance manager and the general manager of the dealership have so far gone unanswered. If they understood the concept of customer service or if they possessed even a modicum of ethics, this situation could have been averted and I would not be spending time warning you about this dealer. They got my $41,000 and all I got was a car without a title. I didn't even get a lousy Autonation T-Shirt. My advice: If you are in the market for a Volvo, when you get to Autonation Volvo of San Jose, keep driving.

S90 is a great car that's why I plan to purchase it since this May. However, this takes me too long time to wait for it. When I put my order this May in dealership, I was told my car could be delivered in Sep. That is why when my previous car was broken, I selected to lease a car from Enterprise to wait for S90. But when I came back later, I was told I had to wait 2 more months for this S90 until Nov. And this was not the last delay. Then it delayed for another month until Dec. Due to this inaccurate delivery date, I had to lease a car from Enterprise for almost four months and had to pay up to 1000 dollars per month. I really don't think this is a good experience for me. And I didn't get any reimbursement for this part. In addition, I didn't get any discount for this car even though I chose to wait for this S90 for half a year. Please care more about your customer.

Keith Forster was terrific and so was everyone across the board. He really listened to what we wanted and what we liked/disliked and worked to get us a deal everyone walked away happy with. We literally went into every top-level dealership in the area (Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar, Infiniti, etc) and the team at Volvo were the warmest and most customer-focused BY FAR. Good not recommend the brand (we LOVE our XC90)---and this dealership---more. We weren't sold on Volvo initially and a couple of weeks later, it's one of the best decisions we made.

My wife and I bought a V70 wagon several years ago from Jeff Cox at AutoNation Volvo. It was a very pleasant, straightforward experience. So, when we decided to buy an XC90 T8 Hybrid recently, we again chose AutoNation and Mr. Cox over other Bay Area dealerships. We contacted Jeff Cox, told him of our interest, and how we wished to have the car configured. Jeff thoroughly explained all of the car's many features , then quoted us a very good sales price ( considerably lower than other Bay Area Volvo dealers advertised). Never did we feel pressured, manipulated, or uncomfortable about any aspect of the purchase process. Mr. Cox and the other AutoNation staff we dealt with were courteous and professional. After we took possession of our new Volvo, Jeff Cox spent as much time as we needed demonstrating how to access the various electronic controls in our wonderful XC90 T8. We really liked this attention to detail. We could not be happier with our purchase and the excellent customer service we received. BTW, we have no connection with Volvo, the AutoNation dealership, nor any of its staff.

I recently bought a second hand Volvo XC90 and had mixed experiences. Although the staff all seem friendly and relaxed, it was impossible to get a response from the first salesman we were dealing with on email, even though we were trying to make an offer. After chasing him we managed to secure the car but the paperwork literally took 2.5 hours to complete. I couldn't understand why as I had said the time I was coming in with the cashier's cheque (for the whole amount) so there wasn't any surprises or finance issues to resolve. However they still had the car out on the lot, hadn't washed or detailed it and it didn't come with a second key (as it was supposed to on the paperwork). So I had to chase that and come back in at another day for them to program it. During the document signing I was passed from person to person throughout the time and had to sign 14 or so documents, some of which was to confirm that I had been shown paperwork when I hadn't been. When I pointed this out they had to go and get the proper paperwork before I would sign. So that part of the process was incredibly inefficient and unprofessional. However, a bright part of the day was my dealings with Keith Forster. He was an amicable, friendly and helpful man. He introduced me to Jerwin and Geoff, who both helped me understand all the buttons and the navigation system (this is my first Volvo). So overall I would say it was a very mixed experience and I would have expected much more from a certified Volvo dealership.

I hate the car buying process since I always worry whether I got the best deal. Our sales person Reny Aganad at Stevens Creek Volvo made that easy for us. He was not pushy and answered all our questions and gave us time to make out decision. Instead of focusing on the deal he let us focus on buying the right car for our budget and driving needs. He followed up after the purchase to check on us and remind us to schedule our appointment to have CarPlay installed.

I like the dealership best for repairs because I always get a free loaner car for as long as my car is in the shop and I can pick it up and drop it off right there. On my previous service they told me I needed about $1500 in repairs. Naturally I took it to another shop for a second opinion. AAA car repair said nothing they said I needed was actually needed but that they found a different problem. So I took it to an independent Swedish car repair shop. They told me all of the items listed needed to be done but I'm not sure if that was true or not. In the end I just got most of it done at the dealership. I don't know about cars but I love my Volvo!

I bought a Volvo XC60 as a birthday gift for my wife from AutoNation at Stevens Creek site just before Memorial Day. It's a wonderful experience getting professional service from Keith Forster, who cares about what a customer needs than anything else. We drove to Reno with the brand new XC60 next day after getting the car, and we were very happy with the driving experience: high performance, easy to cut into a car-pool lane with automatic Turbo-mode; very economic, about 30 MPG from home to Reno; feeling absolutely safe like Mercedes-Bens style; Elegant exterior and interior design; great driving visibility with SUV high seat; convenient life-time in-car internet access, although it's not that fast but good enough. We really love the car!

I have been bringing my Volvos to Autonation for 15+ years without fail and generally have had positice experiences. Unfortunately, my last two appointments have not been favorable. Towards the end of 2015, I wrote two postive customer service reviews on their website for Francisco and never heard back from anyone. My last appointment (April 26) ended on a bad note as well. The loaner car was filthy and was itself in need of maintenance; it stalled out at every stop. Upon returning the loaner, I informed them and was pretty much blown off. Sadly, I will be looking elsewhere for a reputable Volvo mechanic.

My repairs were done in a timely manner and the staff kept me informed of the progress of the repairs with cost estimates throughout the time my car was in the shop. They open early and close late making it convenient for people who work during business hours. Also, they offer peets coffee to their customers free of charge.

Brought my car in due to a leaky windshield - other issues were found. As my car is 8 years old one can accept that - it was the way ti was handled - here are 2 examples of poor communication: 1. Was told after car in the shop for 4 days it would be ready that day at 4 pm - no call until 5 pm from someone I had never talked to before. When I answered they literally said - "you need to have xyz done to your car and it will take 2 hours more and cost $350, do you want us to do it?" I was like who are you??? 2. Second example - the next day they tried to make up for this and gave me yet another new person to talk to - I asked them what had been done to my car to this point - he started with the windshield has been changed - I corrected and said it had not - three advisors ago recommended against this. He said he would check the facts and get back to me. Overall poor communication! I told them this at the time and made a post on another website (AND TOLD THEM) about my experience - no one said anything about but they posted on the site do I want to GM to call me - couldn't the service rep have offered that??

Some people would say that my recent purchase of a 2000 V70 with 179k miles was foolish. However, having purchased one new and one used vehicle from this dealership, I knew that I would be getting a vehicle that was thoroughly checked out by their service department and that would probably give me a reliable transport for years to come. Before buying, I noticed that the rear window wiper was inoperable and that the front passenger seat belt was detached. The service department promptly rectified both deficiencies.

I exchanged emails with the general manager of AutoNation Volvo San Jose after seeing a used car that I have been searching for, and we promptly set up an appointment for me to view the car (about 60 miles from my home). I knew that this model wouldn't last long, and was able to get in right at the end of 2015. I test drove the car. I was assigned a polite and knowledgeable sales associate, and after the test drive, I knew I wanted to buy this car. The process was somewhat lengthy, as the dealership was understaffed, but we made a fair deal, involving a trade-in of my car, and the acquisition of an extended warranty plan. I walked away that day with the car I've dreamed about, a happy and satisfied customer.

The sales agent was very polite, professional and patient. He took us to their stork yard and grabbed keys for 6 different XC60 with different color/configuration which we were trying to decide from one of them, we looked at them and decided the color and test drove one with AWD and one with FWD and decided on the AWD. When we were back at the office, the loan was handled very quick and all paper work done in a short period of time. We like our shopping experience there.

So for him to come to me, and show me the car (7 months pregnant btw and in my bathrobe) was super key to my wonderful experience. He went through every feature in detail and answered every question I could possibly think of, even after we bought the car he still answers my questions. I had a great experience purchasing a used, non-Volvo automobile, with Edward Willis as my salesperson. I was offered a straight-up fair price for the car, within the price range my research showed was a very fair price for me. Edward is knowledgeable, poised, and polite. I decided to take the car on a Sunday evening just after negotiating and just before closing, at a time the full detail crew was not there. Edward Willis actually took part in cleaning the car, and he arranged another complete detail session for the car in the next couple weeks. I consider that there really was was special attention to the car on both visits, and that and a top off to full tank of gasoline was also appreciated. This Volvo dealership has always had a good reputation with me, and for good reason.

We got a good price on our new Volvo from AutoNation and no unpleasant haggling. They seemed honest and didn't pressure us in any way. We wound up dealing with five or six different sales people and managers, though, and that felt a little strange. We kept trying to interact with just the first sales person and manager, but the dealership has kind of a revolving door of faces. Maybe that's standard these days. Wouldn't know--we don't buy a lot of cars! We love the new car and the service has been good for follow-up questions. Good experience overall.

I use AutoNation for my Volvo service for a long time and was always happy about the service and customer support. However, I made a stupid mistake this Monday - forgot a full roll of quarters in the central console of my car. I remembered it while driving away, and told to myself - this is a reputable place, they will not take it. To my greatest dismay, the roll was gone when I picked up the car in the evening. The manager was really nice suggesting the refund or discount on the future service - but the whole ordeal left kind of a bad taste.Especially the fact that while performing the service, there was absolutely no need to open the console.. so it almost feels that the car was "searched"..I have no comments on the quality of mechanical service, but the situation made me extremely unhappy. Once I got home I wanted to post this review on the web, but then decided I will write to AutoNation representative instead - using the email address they provided for feedback with my service document. Guess what? Nobody wrote back or addressed this situation in any way - so yes, today I am posting it on Facebook.

I brought my C-30 in for general maintenance at 52,000 miles. I thought I would have to take a shuttle back to my house but was offered the option of a loaner car instead. This dealership does everything possible to make your experience smooth and non-stressful. I highly recommend this dealership. Bought a C-30 in January 2015. Prior to that I had an S-70 (1998) from same dealership. I was tempted to buy up from the C-30...but for now am quite satisfied with my choice. It fits my needs for now. However, the loaner car was an S-60 2014. What an awesome driving car! I am still not finished with Volvo yet...

Took my car in due to a leak from the upper interior windshield that I noticed from a car wash. We received a loaner car. Smythe Volvo discovered the drains from the sunroof were plugged up somehow. They pulled the interior liner and replaced the drains keeping the car for one week to let everything dry out. They put the liner back and everything looks good as new. Our service manager was great as was everyone else, Thanks again!

This is my 3rd car purchase in USA. Just I am comparing with my past buying experience with other dealers?Really I had pleasant experience with my used car purchase in Auto Nation VolIvo San Jose. Only thing is, they won?t do any courtesy discount for their customers. You have to do your homework on pricing and if price come close to your estimation then go for it. In my case, I was negotiating with my numbers on first visit. After two days, they reduced the tagged price itself and it was close to my estimation. I didn?t do any negotiation on that reduced price and now I am driving my 3rd used car(like new). So far, so good! I worked with Jeffrey Cox on this purchase. He came with me for test drive and explained nicely about the car features.

Found the 2012 xc60 CPO online and had open communication for a week while I made arrangements to make the 3 hour drive to look at the vehicle. We had a long day of driving but the staff was very kind and went out of their way to help us. I went from Tracy, which is 50 miles away. The negotiation to buy the Volvo was simple. I wanted to pay a price and we agreed on a price. All I had to do then was write a check. They made me wait about 2 hrs. in the lobby before I was called in to do paperwork. Once I was invited I was out in about 10 min.

I recently moved to the Bay Area after unsuccessful trips to other dealers, I found a used vehicle located at Autonation San Jose. It appeared to be a good deal but had a few accidents listed on the Carfax. I inquired about these and the Certified Specialist, Jeff, researched all of my questions in detail (when, where, and how these accidents occurred) and returned this information to me the next morning. I was uncomfortable with history of this car, and Jeff found me another vehicle with similar specs. I was in a car I was happy with by the end of the week! Ed is not your typical car sales person, rather he is like talking to a friendly neighbor. Just a nice guy. Well, Nice Guy sold me a car, a Volvo V50. The entire Steven's Creek team has turned out to be pretty great too. The finance specialist, Oliver Paralmo, was the best auto financer I ever met. His explanations of service products were clear and he was in it for my benefit. At the end, I bought a great car with a great service package, rather than than be a "drive by" consumer. This was my first car purchase. I had gone to a lot of other places to look for cars, and most salesman were very pushy! I really liked that at AutoNation Volvo-SJ the salesman were not aggressive or seemed too eager to make a sale. Everyone was very friendly, and professional. The only bad thing I can say is that the process takes so long, between waiting for the bank and signing everything, it was about 3hrs, but I think that's everywhere.

I got a new S60 R-Design this Monday from AutoNation. Before that, I had a test drive in a BMW dealer nearby, their attitude was terrible, no welcome, no explanation, no patience. However, Volvo AutoNation is totally different, I firstly contacted them through cars.com and scheduled a test drive, they replied me very quickly and the next day I had a very enjoyable test driving. Oliver helped me to get everything done, especially my financing part, though I just started working 5 months ago and didn't have much records on my credit, I still got a good financing plan. I decided to buy this car the same day and went back to sign all documents the next day. It was a pleasant start, and I hope the service part can be as good as the sales.

Jerwin brought up available incentives when my wife was just 'tire kicking" and those helped get to my $ goal. There was one small issue with the car (a service loaner) and they made it right. And if you have a volvo don't forget to ask about loyalty programs. Also...IMHO a great deal can be done on the previous service loaners.....but they are not easy to see on the website...so ask! We have a 2004 xc70 and have had to serviced here since day one with total good work and service.

I went to AutoNation Volvo San Jose, for me the local Volvo dealership, to explore the Volvo brand, in particular the offered safety packages. After I checked a number of vehicles on the lot, Mr. Jeffrey C. approached and offered me an assistance. I was very impressed by breath of information, including both technical and practical info, he provided (a one or two he was not 100% sure of, he verified in the manual). The dealership did not have a car on the lot with the very combination of options I wanted. Jeff did not try to talk me into a different choice, instead he did find what I wanted in another California Volvo dealership - and arranged a delivery on the same day! The vehicle I got (XC60 AWD), by the way, seems great - after 2 days of driving, I am very happy with its tuning - ride is very comfortable and at the same time the handling is very precise. Ergonomics is first class IMHO - everything is "logical", thought thru much better than in any of the vehicles I had a chance to drive recently. I recommend the dealership and the XC60 without reservation.

I was looking for an end-of-2013 model-year deal on a Volvo S60 T5 AWD. The best deal available of the car I was looking for was offered by Autonation Volvo San Jose on Stevens Creek. That was enough to get me in their door for a test drive. I was pleasantly surprised by the salesmen and service. I felt no pressure at any point in the process, nor did I feel the pressure of time. When we stopped midway through my test drive to let me take over the wheel my cell phone range. It was a rare call from my college age son and he needed to talk. The sales rep never showed any impatience with me as my son talked for about 10 minutes. I was impressed. I had every question answered, even though I drove the process beyond the allotted 3 hour time he had budgeted, there was no pressure to leave when his next scheduled customers arrived for their appointment. They were invited to meet with another sales representative. A great experience all around and I drove off the lot with the car I had come in to test drive as a happy customer.

My wife and I bought our first family vehicle last weekend, a 2013 XC70 T6 Premier Plus. We love the car and all our friends love the looks of it. Not one person has snickered at the fact it is a wagon. We are proud of our choice and we would recommend not just this dealership, but specifically our sales rep Ed W. He was extremely honest, upfront, and responsive. He helped us find the color combo my wife wanted and the technical specs I wanted. There were only 3 left in the country and he helped us get it sent from San Francisco to the San Jose dealer and we were on our way.

Outstanding dealership; was well treated; non-threatening, no pressure sales games; gave me an internet price on the car and stood by that price. I drove 60+ miles to get the color and options I wanted on end of the year 2013 model.. I would give this dealership 5 stars and they are open on Saturdays for service on your Vovlo. Even spent the time with me to help with all the new electronic gear on the new car in spite of my dinosaur technology mind. My salesperson, Ed Willis, was a really good person, gentleman, concerned about me as an individual. This dealership provides service and the people from sales to parts to management are the best. No repairs yet--but service is available on Saturday and loaner cars are available on repairs--top notch!!

Most of the transaction was carried out via email, which I loved. We got a great deal on our new XC 60. I wasn't really looking forward to going in and completing the deal in person, but was pleasantly surprised. Ed W. was very pleasant and made the transaction hassle-free. They gave us a fair price for our old car. I would definitely buy a car from them again.

I just bought a new Volvo C30 at Smyth AutoNation Volvo in San Jose. This is my third new Volvo purchase from this dealership. My experience this time far exceeded my expectations. My saleman was Jerwin B. I can't say enough good things about how knowledgeable and helpful Jerwin was during every aspect of this transaction. He knew everything about the car and answered all my questions thoroughly and very professionally. He discussed financing options with honesty. When it came time to talk numbers, he worked with me to negotiate a price that I thought was fair. Finally, I wanted a particular model and color of the car that the San Jose dealer did not have in stock. So, Jerwin tracked one down for me at a dealer in Chico, organized a trade, and then he personally drove to Chico to pick up the car. Jerwin's style is low key and professional. He is very easy to work with. I highly recommend this dealership. If you go, ask for Jerwin! He's the best!

Good experience leasing an XC90 with this Dealer. I had been shopping for >6 months and test drove many competing vehicles (X5, RX350, MDX). Particularly pleased with the sales manager - Ed W. Straightforward, transparent and easy to work with. Most of our communication was through email and Ed's follow up and responsiveness were superior to his competitors. I had done my homework prior to negotiation and knew what I was willing to pay. Working with Ed at this stage was a breeze - I truly felt he worked as my advocate within the dealership. We were done with negotiations in a day. When it was time to pick up the car it was clear some minor details were missed in cleaning it up for delivery. Ed apologized and offered to have it detailed again, more thoroughly and have the gas tank filled at a date that would be convenient for me. Based on this service and my satisfaction with the vehicle I expect to return to this dealer when its time to shop for my next car.

Volvo makes excellent vehicles. Beware of the games that Jerwin and Rick (General Manager) play in the Sales Dept. It is a numbers game, for sure - go in with a clear head and keep your eyes on the bottom line. They are game players to the Nth degree and will take advantage where possible. In the end, the vehicles are great - however Smythe Volvo makes the sales process tricky and exhausting.

After an exhaustive online search, I finally purchased a Volvo S60 T5 sight unseen from Smythe Volvo. Jeff Cox(Sales) was great to work with especially considering proximity. He was incredibly helpful and really went out of his way to communicate all the way through my decision/evaluation. He was honest, forthright and very easy to work. A consummate professional....It really helped to renew my faith in the car buying process/

I took my ancient Volvo in right after I purchased it - it had been horribly neglected - the service staff went out of their way to accommodate me and bring my car up to excellent appearance and performance. Well done!
